Contraindications
As reflexology is a simple, safe and effective therapy, there should be no need to a list of precautions or contraindications. However sometimes when the body is in an unstable condition it is advised to wait a while before having a treatment.
Reflexology is not generally recommended for anyone experiencing the following conditions:
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- First Trimester of Pregnancy
- Unstable pregnancy
- Any broken or fractured bones on the feet
- Any infectious diseases
- Immediately after surgery – it is recommended to wait for 2 weeks
If in any doubt about the suitability of reflexology for your condition please seek your doctors permission. If required, Emma will be pleased to discuss how reflexology works with your GP.
