Bush Fire Response
In response to the Victorian Bush Fires in Feb 2009, Emma Gierschick organized a National fundraising event in several major cities to provide reflexology and massage services for the public raising over $20,000.
She was also instrumental in the creation of APERN – the Australian Practitioners Emergency Response Network, under the umbrella of Hands on health which recruited and coordinated volunteer therapists to provide support for the emergency service personnel and survivors of the fires.
